Freia is part of Mondelez International, Norways leading snacking company. Freia was Established in 1889. In 1906 Freia Launched "Melkesjokolade" and in the following century they have produced some of the countrys most famous and best loved brands. The chocolate is produced at Freias factory at Rodeløkka, Oslo
The brief was to create a line of packing for the glazing version of established chocolate brands. There needed to be a commeon element, but the different brands had to remain recognizable.
We created a design based on the diamond pattern which figured as an element on several of the chocolated tablets in the series. In addition to the disamond being a common element from the heritage packagings, it also symbolizes the shape the pan baked glazed cakes are usually cut into.
typography for the "Glasur" wordmark was chosen due to its shared characteristics with glaze cake decorating typography.
We also shot and styled the cake image which was used on the packing.
